Go Big (or Go Home)

We bought a new rig. Or at least we ordered one. We went to the Tampa RV Super Show and after walking through every fifth wheel that had a mid bunk and rear living situation, we settled on a Heritage Glen 369BL. It’s a 43ft fifth wheel. We’re going from a travel trailer we specifically …

We’re still here.

In this newsletter, I we talk about how great it was that we could pick back up with friends, how we’re feeling about 10 months of RV Travel, and as an experiment, have provided the audio of the entire newsletter. So let me know if that works for you guys — it’s sort of the audiobook version for all you audible learners like me.

The Hoover Dam Really Surprised Us

We were going from Hurricane, Utah to Lake Havasu, Arizona — so naturally, I located the half-way point and searched for RV Parks nearby. Turns out — that’s also where the Hoover Dam is. This unexpected trip turned out to be one of our favorite experiences. I would call it a MUST.

How to deal with RV parks being booked on holidays

When you RV full-time, weekends are sometimes a problem. It’s easy to find availability Sunday through Thursday, but Friday and Saturday are difficult. What’s worse though? Holidays. Memorial Day weekend, for example, was booked solid, no matter where we called. Here are a few strategies for dealing with holidays when you don’t have reservations. Get …

Our 5 (6) Month Update

5(6) Months!! I keep writing it that way because we intended to get this out at the 5 month mark, when in reality, two days from now will be 6 months, but I digress.

It’s been (let’s say) 6 months on the road. We finally got around to our update video, and I have a few other things to share, including a new series we’ve started that will be much shorter and informative, but also provide more frequent videos.

Hinson High Five – Our 5 Favorite Trip Planning Tools

In today’s video, we’re bringing you a new segment we’re calling “Hinson High Five!”. In these videos, we’ll share 5 things we have learned or find valuable.

We have a lot of things planned for this series and can’t wait to share them with you!

Oh yeah, and our 5 month update is coming…you wouldn’t believe how hard it’s been to sit down and record that video! Stay tuned, I promise it’s coming soon!

Hiking Mesa Arch & Whale Rock in Canyonlands National Park

This might be the shortest video we’ve ever produced. Coming in at just over 7 minutes, you can watch the entire thing while waiting for your eggs to boil (or something else in that time frame). Anyway, In this video, we went to Canyonlands National Park, and hiked Whale Rock. Whale Rock was SO FUN. The kids were free to scramble up the rocks, so that’s exactly what they did.

Bonus was that at the top of Whale Rock, you had a FULL 360 degree view of Canyonlands. This place is stunning. Thanks for watching! Please give the video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it!

Visiting Arches National Park

In this episode we visit Arches National Park, home of the picturesque Delicate Arch (which we saw at sunset), Balanced Rock, Landscape Arch and many more. This place has 2,000 natural stone arches. The two days we spent visiting were not enough to scratch the surface. We hope you enjoy this video of our visit!
