Our Life On Purpose

We have 940 Saturdays until our kids graduate from high school and go on to college. That's 18 summers to make the most of our time with them.

Every year, we make resolutions to be intentional. Eat less, exercise more, get up earlier etc. We want to live our life on purpose, be intentional about parenting and being together and make family our favorite thing.

About two times a month we send out updates in our newsletter about what we're doing. We'll be creating our own resources on how to get more out of your family time, so sign up to be notified when they're finished.

Our Life

We love family time, and though sometimes that means we have more mess than we'd like, we want to share our journey with you. Follow along as we share our favorite experiments and experiences as we try to make every moment count.

Though the days are long, the years are short.

Sunsets and sunrises are my favorite! Seeing them in each state and place has been one of the best things! • Look at this gorgeous sunset over Legion Lake! I made Joseph stop the truck on our ride back to the campsite so I could snap this picture . •

Wind Cave National Park was the 2nd National Park we hit up while in South Dakota. • It is one of the longest caves in the world…and they still haven’t found the end of it yet! • I was feeling a bit claustrophobic in the beginning of the tour but luckily made it all the way to the end .

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the things you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. “ ~ H. Jackson Brown Jr.

This little cutie just turned 8 a couple of weeks ago! And in true Hinson fashion we celebrated hard! 🦄 We love a good birthday and Norah’s was the first one to celebrate from the road. She had been counting down the days from the moment we left Virginia. Birthday traditions were in full swing…sweet cereal , decorate like crazy , special birthday fun, Mexican food , and of course cake ! •

Not a bad place to take a nap…Or camp for free. • Boondocking for the first time at the Wall Dispersed area was a huge success. I was a total fan! Except for the 35mph winds on the last night !

Badlands National Park was such a cool experience for us! It was just sooooo different from the landscape in Virginia. • It was awesome to see the awe on our kids faces as we drove in and they got to see something so beautiful and different. • It’s definitely one of the reasons we decided to take this trip. To expose them to the amazing beauty our country has to offer. • –
